HOW TO WASH AND MAINTAIN YOUR COATED VEHICLE

Updated: Nov 27, 2021

Here is a step by step guide to maintaining your exterior coating!

Here’s your options:

  1. Hand wash: With garden hose or power washer, soap in a bucket (use a grit guard) for the body (2-3 wash mitts), soap in another bucket (use a grit guard) for the wheels (stiff tire brush and wash mitt for the rims) and a foam cannon.

  2. Rinseless wash: With rinseless wash (we recommend Mckee’s 37 N-194 or Optimum no-rinse) diluted 2oz to 4 gallons of water in a bucket (use a grit guard), rinseless wash sponge (Mckee’s 37 golden sponge or optimum big red sponge) and a garden hose or pressure washer.

  3. Touch-less carwash with the most basic option (winter you may use an underbody wash option)

  4. Bring your vehicle to us for a maintenance wash $149

Hand wash:

  1. Rinse the wheels and inner fenders down with water. Then liberally spray a degreaser/ all purpose cleaner on one wheel and inner fender. Scrub the tire (only the tire) with a stiff brush and let the cleaner dwell on the rim before washing the rim with a soft cloth or wash mitt. Rinse the wheel and repeat for the remaining wheels.

  2. Rinse the car down with water top to bottom (avoid direct sunlight and hot surfaces). Foam the vehicle with a foam cannon either designed for a power washer or garden hose. Let the soap dwell for 1 min. Grab you body panel bucket and wash mitts and working in straight lines washing each panel from top to bottom. Make sure to check your mitt for contamination as you are washing. Discard soiled wash mitts and grab a new mitt (You can wash all your used mitts after in the washing machine).

  3. Rinse the vehicle of all soap with your pressure washer or garden hose.

  4. Blow dry your vehicle with a leaf blower or hand dry with a large plush drying towel.

  5. Use your favourite spray detailer as a drying aid to assist hand drying your car.

  6. You can dry your wheels with a leaf blower as well and finish off with a separate towel and a drying aid.

  7. Apply tire shine for that show room finish!

Rinseless wash:

  2. For soiled body panels you may pre treat the soiled areas with your no rinse solution in a spray bottle or a diluted degreaser ( 5:1 dilution ratio).

  3. Using the sponge, wash each panel of the car one at a time. Check your sponge and clean it off after each pass with it.

  4. Dry each panel after you wash it using a drying aid and a plush drying towel.
